About the Program
The Engineering Technology Associate Degree program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions as engineering technicians. Specifically, this program was designed to provide in-depth training to help design, build, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of production systems and products.

In this program, you will learn the skills necessary to speak and understand the language of the industry and to use the tools of the trade including AutoCAD®. Receiving an Associate Degree in Engineering Technology can prepare you for an exciting career working at aircraft companies, automobile or appliance manufacturing plants, power plants, government agencies, and more!

Career Growth & Opportunity
Most engineering techs work full-time and earn between $34,000 and $83,000 annually depending on experience level, education, employer and location. Median earnings are around $54,000 a year.

Typically, engineering techs will start out in entry-level roles and work in those roles for a couple of years before moving up to become intermediate techs. From there, those who’d prefer to remain techs can move on to become senior techs, while those interested in management positions may choose to pursue project manager roles. 

A Day in the Life: Engineering Tech

Engineering Techs can most often be found working in offices, factories, and research labs. On occasion, some travel for conferences and seminars, as well as visit plants and building sites. Work may consist mostly of computer work, designing layouts, planning workflows, conducting statistical studies and analyzing costs.

Those that work mostly in factories will need to follow strict safety rules by wearing protective clothing like gloves, steel-toed boots, and hard hats. 40-hour work weeks are standard for this line of work, though sometimes night shifts are required, meaning they’ll work long hours or odd schedules on occasion.
